Abstract (en)
An elongate drilling guide rod (100) for percussive drilling comprising a deviation resistant section (107) extending axially along at least part of a main length section (106) of the rod (101). The deviation resistant section comprises a circumferentially non-uniform cross sectional wall thickness that includes two diametrically opposed thick regions and two diametrically opposed thin regions. A guide rod is provided being appreciably stiffer and having a larger area moment of inertia in one axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the rod.
