Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2015078667A1] The invention relates to a method for increasing the availability of a track vacancy detection system, which is connected to a railway control center (8), track vacancy detection sections being formed between axle counting points. The invention also relates to a device for the method. The aim of the invention is to allow better repair planning and the continued use of an available railway control center interface. This is achieved in that axle counting point pairs (2a/2b and 3a/3b) are arranged such that first and second track vacancy detection sections (Ia and Ib) are formed which have the conditions of vacant, occupied, defective, or failure that are ORed in a third virtual track vacancy detection section, and the third track vacancy detection section transmits its state to the railway control center (8).
