[origin: WO2015049269A1] The invention relates to a capsule (1), comprising a preferably rotationally symmetric capsule body (2), which has a side wall (3) and a bottom (4), which bottom in particular is formed together with the side wall as one piece, and comprising a cover (5) for forming a closed chamber (6), which cover covers the capsule body (2). The chamber contains a substance (7) for preparing a liquid food. The capsule has an outlet opening (10) for outputting the liquid food in the region of the bottom (4). The outlet opening (10) is closed by means of a valve (20) having a valve opening (21), wherein the valve (20) comprises a shut-off body (26), which is supported in such a way that the shut-off body can be moved in an axial direction between a closed position and an open position.
