[origin: WO2015043575A1] The invention relates to a motor vehicle door lock equipped with a locking mechanism (2, 3), an actuation lever mechanism (6a, 6b) acting on said locking mechanism (2, 3), and a locking element (14). The locking element (14) disables the actuation lever mechanism (6a, 6b) when accelerating forces (F) of a defined magnitude occur, for example in the event of an accident. According to the invention the locking element (14) is a transmission lever (14) which can be impinged upon by a locking unit (11, 12) and is located between the actuation lever mechanism (6a, 6b) and the locking mechanism (2, 3).
