Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2015063323A1] The invention relates to a method for determining a velocity of a flowing medium. The problem addressed by the invention is that of providing a method for determining the velocity of a flowing medium, which allows an as accurate measuring as possible without requiring a complex measurement structure. The problem is solved by said method such that a turbulence is generated in the medium, and an electromagnetic signal is beamed into the medium. Subsequently, a measure for a permittivity of the medium is determined from the received electromagnetic signal, and therefrom, the velocity of the medium is determined. The invention further relates to a device (1) for determining the velocity of a medium.
