[origin: WO2015067444A1] The invention relates to a portable tool for tying an object, in particular a cable harness, using a strip (9), comprising a tool element (1) with a cycle controller (5) arranged in the tool element, a clamping device (6), and a drive for the clamping device. The drive is designed as a dual drive such that the cycle controller (5) and the clamping device (6) each have a dedicated drive (75, 76), said drives being actuated independently by a controller (8). By providing a dedicated drive for the clamping device (6) in this manner, interfering influences from the cycle controller (5) are eliminated. Thus, a more precise clamping process can be carried out with high reproducibility, thereby improving the quality of the tying process.
