Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2015120882A1] The invention relates to an override protection device for a rail vehicle comprising at least one buffer (10) which is supported by an energy absorption element (2) connected to a vehicle frame (1) of the rail vehicle. In order to configure such a protection device in such a way that it can be produced economically, reliably prevents overriding and is also comparatively easy to retrofit, a bearing element (4) is fastened to the energy absorption element (2) at the end thereof facing away from the vehicle frame (1), which bearing element supports an override protection device (5) at the end thereof protruding in a vertical direction from the buffer (10). A horizontally oriented stop (9) is provided in such a way that, in the event of a crash, in cooperation with the vehicle front of the rail vehicle, an override protection element (8) of the override protection device (5) can be brought from the stop into an override protection position extending outward over the buffer (10).
