The foldable modular structure for a fast-erecting tent or similar shelter consists of the assembly of profiled sections that, in particular, form at least two opposing arches (1, 2) linked by at least two purlins, including one ridge purlin (4). A first end of the ridge purlin (4) is linked by a hinge (6) to a first ridge part (10) of a first arch (1), said hinge (6) comprising first pivoting means (44) allowing said ridge purlin to pivot according to a transverse axis (A5), parallel to the plane of the arch, in order to allow the purlin (4) to fold parallel to said arch, and second pivoting means (61) allowing the ridge purlin to pivot according to an axis (A6) perpendicular to the plane of the arch, and the second end of the ridge purlin comprises linking means (45) for linking with a second ridge part (20) of a second arch (2), said linking means being arranged to provide a dismountable but rigid link between the ridge purlin (4) and said second linking part (20).
