[origin: EP2966021A1] A spinning machine includes an air-jet spinning device (9), a yarn pooling device (22) and a winding section (26). The air-jet spinning device (9) supplies a spun yarn (10). The yarn pooling device (22) pools the spun yarn (10) supplied by the air-jet spinning device (9). The winding section (26) winds the spun yarn (10) from the yarn pooling device (22) to form a package (50). The winding section (26) includes a winding drum driving motor (54) that rotates the package (50). The winding section causes the winding drum driving motor to stop the rotation of the package (50) before the yarn is disconnected or after the yarn is disconnected but before a yarn end is wound onto the package (50).
