[origin: WO2015078659A1] The invention relates to a filling element for filling cans or similar containers (2) with liquid contents, comprising a filling element housing (3), which has at least one dispensing opening (4) on a housing portion (3.1) in order to dispense the contents into the respective container (2) in a controlled manner, and a sealing tulip (5) which can be moved relative to the housing portion (3.1) by means of at least one control means (6, 6') in a parallel manner to the filling element axis (FA) between a raised position and a lowered position in which the sealing tulip (5) sealingly rests against an opening edge (2.1) of the container (2). The sealing tulip (5) is connected to the filling element housing (3) by means of a first sealing element (7) in order to seal the transition between the sealing tulip (5) and the filling element housing (3), and the first sealing element (7) is provided between the housing portion (3.1) and the control means (6).
