Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2015078512A1] The present invention relates to a steann injection apparatus (1) suitable for use in a household appliance, in particular a steann laundry dryer (2). The steam injection apparatus (1) has a chamber (3) which encloses a cavity, an inlet port (4) which conveys a pressurized water/steam mixture into the chamber (3), a first outlet port (5) which drains water out of the chamber (3) and a second outlet port (6) which discharges the steam out of the chamber (3). The first outlet port (5) and the second outlet port (6) are in fluid communication with the inlet port (4). In the steam injection apparatus (1) according to the present invention, the chamber (3) has a concave deflective portion (7) for separating the water/steam mixture into separate phases, namely condense water and steam. The concave deflective portion (7) has a concave surface (8). The concave side of the surface (8) is arranged so as to oppose the inlet port (4). The inlet port (4) is configured to direct the pressurized water/steam mixture onto the concave side of the surface (8).
