[origin: WO2015078553A1] The invention relates to a method and a system for managing cost-incurring traffic areas in which a mobile radio communication network contains a server that has access to at least one data record in which, for at least one manager of at least one traffic area, billing information for the respective manager and identification information for the at least one traffic area managed by the manager are associated with one another, and a process of use in a traffic area of a manager prompts the identification information from the traffic area to be ascertained directly at the location of the traffic area by means of a mobile device, or prompts a piece of traffic area information to be ascertained that can be used to establish the identification information indirectly, and a mobile radio communication interface that is in place in the device is used to transmit the ascertained identification information or traffic area information via the mobile radio communication network to the server, which ascertains the billing information from the associated manager for the received identification information or traffic area information, and information, stipulated on the device, about at least the period of use is interchanged by means of communication between device and server, wherein billing in favour of the associated manager is initiated by the server at least in respect of the use costs.
