The protective cap (3) has at least one ventilation opening (30) for establishing communication between an interior and an outer surrounding area, and a sterile filter (5) which covers the at least one ventilation opening is arranged on the protective cap (3) in order to reduce or prevent an introduction of microbes into the interior of the protective cap (3) via the at least one ventilation opening. The invention further relates to a discharge device (1) comprising a dispenser (2) and a protective cap (3).
