To this end at least two feed systems (1, 2, 3, 4) which are movable and controllable independently of one another interact with the product to be transformed (5, 6) before and/or after the transforming stage (U) in such a way that axial forces are applied by the feed systems (1, 2, 3, 4) simultaneously or substantially alternately over time to the product to be transformed (5, 6) and thus axial tensions are exerted on the product to be transformed (5, 6) upstream of and/or in and/or downstream of the transformation zone (U).
