[origin: WO2015090516A1] The invention relates to a vehicle illumination device (10) for illuminating the surroundings of a vehicle, comprising at least one vehicle headlight (12) which is arranged on the vehicle and a control unit (14) for controlling the vehicle headlight (12). The vehicle headlight (12) comprises a plurality of light segments (30) which can be controlled by means of the control unit (14) and an interface (16) for inputting data corresponding to a lighting member which is connected to the control unit (14), said data being input by a driver of the vehicle. The control unit (14) is designed to adjust the light segments (30) in order to light the lighting member corresponding to the data input by the driver.
