[origin: WO2015091627A1] The invention relates to a method for preparing grass or hay as paper fiber material, having the steps of pre-comminuting the grass or hay to an average fiber length between 500 mm and 10 mm, in particular between 120 mm and 10 mm, using a bale breaker and/or shredder; removing impurities and foreign material or contaminants using a cyclone; comminuting and grinding the grass or hay in a fibrillating manner in a fiber mill; dividing the grass or hay so as to form fibers; and screening and/or sieving the grass or hay using a circulating air separator and/or an eddy current sieve machine.
