Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2015090745A1] In the case of a motor vehicle door lock (1) with a rotary latch (3), a pawl (6) which is in engagement with the rotary latch (3) in an engagement position, and a drive element (10), to which a coupling portion (9) of the pawl (6) is coupled in terms of movement and which moves the pawl (6) between the engagement position and a release position, the intention is to provide a solution which, in a structurally simple manner and cost-effectively, provides a motor vehicle door lock, in which the opening noise is reduced to a minimum, but at least in which the opening operation does not produce any significantly audible noise having an adverse effect on the comfort. This is achieved in that the drive element (10) is designed as an eccentric disc (11) which has an eccentric bolt (14) which is arranged outside the centre point of the eccentric disc and is connected to a drive unit (15) by a drive shaft, wherein the drive element (10) moves the pawl (6) during the initial movement from the engagement position in the direction of the release position in such a manner that the rotary latch (3), which is in engagement, as before, with the pawl (6) during this movement, moves in the direction of the open position.
