[origin: WO2015097350A1] The present invention relates to the production of a silver alloy blackened in the body used, for example, in jewellery. The method for manufacturing said material comprises placing the alloy in contact with the sulphur in the form of sulphurous vapour. The wires used for said method have a thickness of 1 millimetre to several millimetres and the duration of the silver alloy exposure to the sulphurous vapour atmosphere is calculated on the basis of said thickness. The silver alloy is blackened by diffusing the sulphur in the silver and, according to the present invention, the silver alloy is heated to a predetermined temperature in order to optimise said diffusion and the microstructure of the material obtained.
