[origin: WO2015096871A1] The present invention proposes a method for operating an image display device, said image display device comprising an internal memory and an automatic switch function button, said method for operating said image display device comprising the steps of receiving at least one category characterizing the content of a program in the form of a content identifier describing the contextual category of an event or a program, storing on said internal memory a database of categories in respect of a plurality of programs associated with a given channel in the form of channel-specific program-pertinent information, including total watching duration data of all channels in different categories and in connection with a specific set of audio signal and subtitle data streams, determining category of a given program being watched on a given channel upon activation of said automatic switch function button, determining the set of audio and subtitle languages having the highest priority in the actual category.
