Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2517321A] A hair styling device comprises a body 312, a chamber 316 adapted to accommodate a length of hair, the chamber having an opening 322 and a rotatable element (32, fig.1) adapted to engage the length of hair and wrap it around protrusion 320. At least one pressing part 330 is provided to drive the length of hair towards the opening 322. A capture region 364 is provided spaced from the opening 322 and a holding part 330 is adapted to hold misplaced hair within the capture region 364. A detector 382 is provided to detect misplaced hair within the capture region 364. The holding part 330 may be the same as the pressing part 330, or they may be two separate components. The holding part 330 is preferably mounted on the moveable panel 356 and is moved into contact with any misplaced hair as the panel 356 is moved to the closed position. Misplaced hair is then moved into the capture region 364. The detection means may comprise a spring biased finger (382, fig 15).
