[origin: CA2931103A1] The invention relates to a device (100) for changing the direction of travel of a rail-bound vehicle, comprising a feeding rail section (101), a removing rail section (103, 104), and a connecting rail section (102), which can be moved from a first position (p1, p2), in which the connecting rail section (102) is arranged in relation to the feeding rail section (101) in such a way that the rail-bound vehicle can drive onto the connecting rail section (102), to a second position (p3, p4), in which the connecting rail section (102) is arranged in relation to the removing rail section (103, 104) in such a way that the vehicle can drive onto the removing rail section (103, 104), by means of a motion comprising at least one rotational motion about an axis (A) of the rotational motion, wherein the connecting rail section (102) can be moved in such a way that the motion of the connecting rail section (102) from the first position (p1, p2) to the second position (p3, p4) also comprises at least one translational motion of the connecting rail section (102) in a direction parallel to the axis (A) of the rotational motion, said translational motion being superposed on the rotational motion. The invention further relates to a rail-bound ride having such a device, and to a method for operating such a device.
