[origin: WO2016131485A1] The invention relates to a chair having a seat, a subframe which carries the seat, and a backrest, characterized in that the backrest is mounted on the subframe such that the backrest can pivot about a rear transverse axis aligned transversely with respect to the chair, in that from the back rest there originates a lever which extends from the rear under the seat and is connected to the seat via a joint, the joint axis of which is parallel to the rear transverse axis of the backrest, in that a front part of the seat, which extends forward from the joint axis, is flexibly or pivotably connected to a rear part of the seat and is connected to the subframe by a pivot bearing which is arranged in front of the joint and by means of which the front part of the seat is mounted on the subframe such that the front part of the seat can be pivoted in the upward and downward direction and displaced in the forward and rearward direction, and in that the chair also comprises a restoring element for restoring the lever and the seat from a deflected position into a rest position.
