The longitudinal direction (70) of the shaft (20) corresponds to the feed direction of the foodstuff (18) in block form. The shaft (20) has a first shaft region (22) and a second shaft region (24) which are at least partially separated from one another by a slot (26). At least one offset (54, 56) lies between the two shaft regions (22, 24). According to the invention, the two shaft regions can be moved relative to one another such that the offset (54, 56) can be reduced by said movement.
