Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2015150070A1] The invention relates to the at least partial (in particular complete) replacement of a defective computer channel with a computer channel (referred to here as replacement computer channel), wherein the defective computer channel and the replacement computer channel are connected via a communication connection. The replacement computer channel can be a resource which can be provided in hardware and/or software and which is connected or can be connected via the communication connection. Advantageously, the availability of a 2v2 system for example can be increased to the level of a 2v3 system without requiring a third computer channel for each system (for example of each computer). In this manner, the complexity and cost for the individual computers is reduced. The invention can be used for computers used in rail vehicles for example, said computers having multiple computer channels for reasons of redundancy.
