Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2015124856A1] The present invention relates to the manufacture of bio-sourced acrylic acid using glycerol as a raw material, the term bio-sourced acid indicating that the acrylic acid is essentially produced from a carbon source of natural origin. The present invention concerns, more particularly, a method for recovery and purification of said acid in a compact facility without the use of an organic solvent, as well as a method for production of acrylic acid from glycerol which includes this recovery and purification method. The method is based in particular on obtaining a gaseous reaction effluent of raw acrylic acid that minimizes the water to acrylic acid mass ratio, enabling upstream resolution of the essential problems posed by the presence of water and impurities in a solvent-free recovery and purification method.
