[origin: WO2015128576A1] The invention relates to a steam appliance (1) intended to style hair, comprising: - a base (1000) having - a fluid reservoir (19) comprising means (2000) for demineralizing the fluid that are arranged upstream of said reservoir (19), - an intermediate chamber (2100) for raw fluid, said intermediate chamber (2100) being arranged upstream of said demineralizing means (2000), - a cover (2030) intended to close said intermediate chamber (2100), - a portable unit (100) for styling the hair, said unit (100) being remote from the base (1000) and having means (7', 7") for outputting steam in the direction of the hair, - a line (21) comprising at least one duct (215) intended to put the base (1000) and the portable unit (100) into fluid communication, - means (7) for vaporizing the fluid and means (7', 7") for outputting steam in the direction of the hair. Said intermediate chamber (2100) comprises in its interior a splitter (6) intended to increase the flow cross section of the fluid through the inlet of the demineralizing means.
