The shuttle vehicle (22) may have a chassis for moving in storage channels of the rack storage warehouse, a load-holding means (52), in particular a platform, for holding loading aids, in particular for holding at least one pallet, and at least one sensor element (64, 66, 68) for monitoring a first defined relative position and at least a second defined relative position of the shuttle vehicle (22) in the storage channel, wherein the first relative position is determined by a first distance (78) of the shuttle vehicle (22) from one end of the channel, and wherein the second relative position is determined by a second distance (80) of the shuttle vehicle (22) from the end of the channel, said second distance being smaller than the first distance (78), and wherein the shuttle vehicle (22) can be coupled to a control device (26, 38, 56) which controls a drive of the shuttle vehicle (22), wherein the control device (26, 38, 56) is designed to activate a first operating mode of the shuttle vehicle (22) when the first relative position is reached and to activate a second operating mode of the shuttle vehicle (22) when the second relative position is reached.
