The drafting mechanism also comprises at least one fiber belt guide device (8, 9, 10), wherein the fiber belt (2) is guided by the fiber belt guide device; the at least one first fiber belt guide device (8) is disposed in front of the drafting mechanism (1) along the advancing direction (LR) of the fiber belt (2); and at least one second fiber belt guide device (9) is disposed behind the drafting mechanism (1) along the advancing direction (LR) of the fiber belt (2). According to the invention, the third fiber belt guide device (10) is disposed between the two roller pairs (3, 4, 5) and/or in front of the first roller pair (3) along the advancing direction (LR) of the fiber belt (2), so that the fiber belt (2) can be guided from the side face.
