[origin: WO2015135801A1] The invention relates to a dryer 1 with a drying chamber 2 for laundry articles 3 to be dried; a process air channel 4, in which a fan 5 for conducting process air, a heat sink 21, a heat source 23, and a lint screen 12 are located; a control unit 18; a liquid sensor 9, 10, 30; a flushing device 11, 15; and a collecting device 6 for condensate and/or lint. The collecting device 6 is designed as a lint receptacle with a filter 7 which is permeable for an aqueous liquid but which retains lint. The dryer also comprises a tub 8 for receiving the liquid allowed through the filter 7, and the tub 8 is paired with at least one fill state sensor 9, 10 with which an aqueous liquid which has flowed from the lint receptacle 6 into the tub 8 through the filter 7 can be detected. A time measuring device 19 is provided which is designed to measure a delay between a flushing process of a dryer component 12, 21 and a sensor signal of the at least one fill state sensor 9, 10 and/or a sensor signal of a lint receptacle sensor 30. The invention further relates to a method for operating said dryer.
