[origin: WO2015144687A1] The invention relates to a driving device comprising: a hand-held housing (1) with a piston member (2) arranged therein for transmitting energy to a securing element to be driven in; an interchangeable propellant charge (4a) and a combustion chamber (3) arranged between the propellant charge (4a) and the piston member (2), said chamber extending around a central axis (A); and an actuator (5, 6, 10), by means of which the energy transmitted by the propellant charge (4a) to the piston member (2) can be variably adjusted, wherein a blow-off channel (7, 7a, 9) connected to the combustion chamber (3) can be exposed by means of a movable slide (6) of the actuator and the slide (6) comprises a body which completely encircles the central axis (A).
