At least one of the strands comprises a first set of metal filaments and a second set of metal filaments, both for conducting electrical current and generating heat when the heating cable is in use. The metal filaments of the first set of metal filaments comprise a steel layer. The metal filaments of the second set comprise a steel layer. The metal filaments of the second set have an annealed microstructure.
