[origin: WO2015149917A1] The invention relates to a line drinker (10) for supplying water to animals, in particular small animals such as poultry, having a water-supply line (11) and having a ventilation element (14) that has a valve (18) and a valve body (31). A cap (19) in which the valve body is freely movable is associated with the valve. The cap has an upper ventilation opening (27) that can be closed by the valve body and a lower inlet opening (28). The cap has an inner chamber (30), the length of which between the ventilation opening and the inlet opening is larger than the valve body.
