[origin: WO2015154198A1] The invention relates to a method for heating food (1), comprising the following steps: a) providing the food (1) in a packaging (2, 3) comprising a shell-like first packaging part (2) having the food (1) thereon and comprising a second packaging part (3), which surrounds the first packaging part (2) in such a way that the top side (4), the bottom side (5), and two opposite peripheral sides (6a, 6c) of the first packaging part (2) are covered by the second packaging part (3) and at least one peripheral side (6b, 6d) of the first packaging part (2) is exposed; b) arranging the packaging (2, 3) on a device (7), wherein retaining means (8a, 8b) are inserted into the packaging (2, 3) between the first packaging part (2) and the second packaging part (3), and the packaging (2, 3) is then retained on the device (7) by said retaining means (8a, 8b); c) removing the first packaging part (2) having the food (1) arranged thereon in a removal direction pointing out of the second packaging part (3) by means of the exposed side (6b), wherein the second packaging part (3) remains retained on the device (7) by means of the retaining means (8a, 8b); d) heating the food (1) by means of the device (7), wherein the food (1) remains arranged on the first packaging part (2) during the heating; e) feeding the first packaging part (2) having the heated food (1) arranged thereon back into the second packaging part (3) retained on the device (7) by means of the retaining means (8a, 8b), in such a way that the top side (4), the bottom side (5), and two opposite peripheral sides (6a, 6c) of the first packaging part (2) are covered by the second packaging part (3); and f) removing the packaging (2, 3) from the device (7).
