Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2015197299A1] The invention relates to carbon fibers, in particular carbon fibers that can be used for carbon-fiber composite plastics. The invention proposes, for the first time, a thin but hard plasma coating with amorphous, i.e., vitreous, siloxane on a carbon fiber. The carbon fiber is thus provided with a surface that can be processed like a glass fiber surface.
