Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2015155029A1] The invention relates to a device for determining the positioning of a head-mounted display, comprising: a head-mounted display which comprises a display and a camera; and electronic calculating means. The device is designed to generate captured images of the surroundings of the head-mounted display using the camera; to detect the image of a stored and specified region of the surroundings in the captured images of the camera, said stored and specified region being described in data; to determine a feature in the detected image of the region; and to determine the positioning of the head-mounted display while taking into consideration the determined feature in the captured images. The positioning of the head-mounted display indicates the position and the orientation of the head-mounted display.
