[origin: WO2015158476A1] In a method for drying, in a drying installation (12) of a power plant (16), wet, carbon-containing particulate fuel (14) which is to be fired in burners of a steam generator of the power plant (16), wherein the drying installation (12) is supplied with a temperature-controlled gas flow and the fuel (14) is dried in the drying installation (12) by means of heat energy transferred from the temperature-controlled gas flow, and the dried fuel (2) is supplied to burners of the steam generator, wherein at least a part of the flue gas flow is branched off as temperature -controlled flue gas flow in a flue gas part flow supply line (11, 11', 11'') which branches off from the flue gas line (6) and is supplied to the drying installation (12) arranged in the chain of the flue gas part flow supply line (11, 11', 11''), a solution is to be achieved which provides a method for drying wet, carbon-containing particulate fuel, which permits the drying of wet, carbon-containing particulate fuel in an energetically efficient and cost-effective manner. This is achieved by the fact that the heat energy of the temperature-controlled flue gas flow in the drying installation (12) is transferred at least in part to the fuel (14) to be dried and the temperature-controlled flue gas flow is returned to the flue gas flow via the flue gas part flow supply line (11, 11', 11'') which discharges back into the flue gas line (6).
