[origin: WO2015158827A1] The invention relates to a method for adjusting a display device comprising a retaining device (2) which can be placed on the head of a user (B) and which comprises a front portion (3) that is equipped with two spectacle lenses (4, 5), said lenses being connected together via a central part (6). The display device also comprises an imaging unit (20), which is secured to the retaining device (2) and generates an image, and an optical imaging system (21), which is secured to the retaining device and images the generated image into an exit pupil when the retaining device (2) is placed on the head of the user (B) such that the user (B) can perceive the generated image as a virtual image with his first eye. The first spectacle lens (4) is a part of the optical imaging system (21), and the generated image is guided in the first spectacle lens and is coupled out of the first spectacle lens (4) via an outcoupling portion (28). The first spectacle lens (4, 5) together with the outcoupling portion (28) is positioned such that the exit pupil of the optical imaging system at least partly coincides with a pupil of the first eye of the user (B) when the retaining device is placed on the head of the user.
