[origin: WO2015159029A1] The invention relates to an image-generation system for a display, in particular a head-up display, including a liquid-crystal screen (12) and a device (14) for backlighting said screen (12). The image-generation system is characterised in that said backlighting device (14) includes: a supporting plate (18), at least one light-emitting diode (16) arranged on the supporting plate (18) and emitting light towards the screen (12), at least one reflecting means (26) arranged between the supporting plate (18) and the screen (12), intended for allowing light to pass through towards the screen (12) and for reflecting, towards the screen (12), light propagating towards the supporting plate (18).
