[origin: WO2005034542A1] The invention relates to a method for the transmission of data from a transmitter to a receiver. The method operates according to the standard universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS standard). The invention also relates to a corresponding communication system and to a computer program product. The aim of the invention is to improve a data transmission method according to the UMTS standard, such that transmission of data is accelerated, and that an inband-signalling of information is carried out on an MAC-layer plane, said information being relevant to the UMTS base station (BS).

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Teinehmernedgerät und eine Basisstation zur Übertragung von Daten von einem Versender an einen Empfänger die nach dem Universal Mobile Telecommunications System-Standard arbeiten, kurz UMTS-Standard. Um ein Datenübertragungsverfahren nach dem UMTS-Standard dahingehend zu verbessern, dass die Datenübertragung beschleunigt wird, wird vorgeschlagen, einen Buffer Status Report von dem Teilnehmerendgerät and die Basisstation zu übertragen.
