[origin: CA2948207A1] The invention relates to a synchronous generator (1), in particular a multi-pole synchronous ring generator of a gearless wind turbine (100), for generating an electric current, comprising a rotor (4) and a stator (3). According to the invention, the stator (3) has a plurality of grooves (17) for receiving a stator coil in the form of conductor bundles (L). Each of the grooves has a groove base (21), the surface of which is profiled such that a first groove base-side layer (25) of conductor bundles assumes an orientation which is specified by the profile when the groove is filled. The invention further relates to a stator (3) for such a generator and to a wind turbine (100) with such a generator.
