[origin: WO2015177324A1] The invention relates to a gas distributer for, and a method of, controlling the velocity profile of a drying gas in a convective dryer, particularly the radial velocity profile, by creating an advantageous velocity profile prior to introducing the drying gas into the convective dryer chamber. The velocity profile may have different requirements depending on the convective process, chamber dimensions and atomizing means, but common gas distributer targets may be defined, such as a radial gas rotationally symmetrical velocity distribution and axial alignment. The invention further concerns a convective dryer comprising the gas distributer of the present invention, the use of said method to produce a powdery substance in a convective dryer according to the present invention.
