Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2015180925A2] The present invention relates to a variable valve timing camshaft (1) having a hollow outer shaft (10) and an inner shaft (11) rotatably received in the outer shaft (10), wherein the inner shaft (11) has a cavity (12) into which oil can be injected, and wherein the outer shaft (10) has at least one first radial opening (13) and the inner shaft (11) has at least one second radial opening (14), so that when the first radial opening (13) and the second radial opening (14) are aligned oil can flow between the cavity (12) and the outside of the outer shaft (10). According to the invention the first radial opening (13) has a larger cross-section on the inside (15) of the outer shaft (10) than on the outside (16) of the outer shaft (10).
