Dishwasher comprising: a compartment (10) for containing a crockery load; a tub (20) for containing water for washing said crockery; a heating element (30) for heating said water; a sensor (40) for detecting a main parameter (MP) representative of a temperature of said water; a processing unit (50) configured for: determining a first parameter (P1) representative of a heating speed of said water; determining a second parameter (P2) representative of a difference between a nominal value and an actual value of a characteristic parameter of said heating element (30); determining an estimate (X) of said load as a function of at least said first parameter (P1) and said second parameter (P2).
