[origin: WO2015197053A1] The invention relates to a device and a method for attaching a tightly fitting closure cap (1) to a substantially cylindrical vessel, which has an opening that can be closed by means of a closure. The closure cap (1) surrounds a part of the outer contour of the vessel including the closure in a tightly fitting manner. An attaching bell (11) is provided for pressing the closure cap (1) onto the vessel. The attaching bell is designed as a hollow body. The inner contour of the attaching bell corresponds to the outer contour of the closure cap in a tightly fitting manner. The closure cap (1) is inserted into the attaching bell (11), the attaching bell is pressed onto the vessel together with the closure cap (1) located in the attaching bell, and then the attaching bell (11) is lifted back up, wherein the closure cap (1) remains on the vessel and surrounds a part of the outer contour of the vessel in a tightly fitting manner, i.e., in a form-fitting manner.
