[origin: WO2016003378A1] The present invention relates to a coating system (1) and method (100), which is applied to the surfaces of the diesel engines' cylinder head, exhaust/intake valves, exhaust/intake ports and/or pistons that are exposed to combustion gases. The objective of the present invention is to obtain a completely smooth coating top surface where oil and/or fuel absorption risk is eliminated and the potential mechanical damages that might occur in the other engine members by the risk of detachment of a powder and/or particle from the ceramic layer are prevented as a result of resolidifying the ceramic based thermal barrier coating surface by laser glazing method.
