A content distribution device is provided that comprises a communication component, and a controller. The communication component is configured to communicate with an external device via a network. The controller is configured to send a reply with an ID in response to a distribution request for content from the external device. The ID is an ID for identifying the distribution request. The controller is configured to send a message associated with the ID to the external device in response to a communication with the ID from the external device.
