[origin: WO2016000007A1] The invention relates to a method for casting at least one component. Flowable metal material (1), in particular magnesium or a magnesium alloy in a thixotropic state, is injected under pressure into a cavity of a multi-part mold via at least one nozzle (2) in order to form the at least one component. The component is then allowed to solidify in the mold, wherein a plug (3), in particular a solid plug, is formed in the nozzle (2), the mold is then opened, and the at least one component is removed. The mold is then closed, and the next components is produced. According to the invention, the nozzle (2) is heated when the mold is open in order to at least soften the plug (3) formed in the nozzle (2) prior to producing the next component. The invention further relates to a device designed to carry out the method.
