[origin: WO2016011314A1] Systems, computer-readable media, and methods for processing a core-box image. The method includes obtaining a core-box image including a first column including a representation of rock samples that were collected from a first subterranean depth interval, a second column including a representation of rock samples that were collected from a second subterranean depth interval, and a divider between the first and second columns. The method also includes identifying, by operation of a processor, the first column, the second column, the divider, or a combination thereof, based on a color contrast in the core-box image, and removing, by operation of the processor, the divider from the core-box image.
