Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vakuumpumpe, insbesondere Turbomolekularpumpe, umfassend - ein Gehäuse mit zumindest einer mit einer Öffnung einer externen Einrichtung, insbesondere Rezipient, verbindbare Öffnung, die zumindest abschnittsweise von einem eine Montageebene definierenden Montageabschnitt umgeben ist, der vorzugsweise zylinderförmig ausgebildet ist, und - ein separates Montageelement zur spannungsfreien Montage des Gehäuses an die externe Einrichtung, wobei das Montageelement mit der externen Einrichtung koppelbar ist und ein Fixierungsmittel zur Herstellung einer kraftschlüssigen Verbindung zwischen dem Montageelement und dem Montageabschnitt aufweist. Alternativ kann das Montageelement mit dem Montageabschnitt koppelbar ausgestaltet sein und ein Fixierungsmittel zur Herstellung einer kraftschlüssigen Verbindung zwischen dem Montageelement und der externen Einrichtung aufweisen.
