Abstract (en)
The present invention relates to an ethernet connector system with a male and a female connector device (100 ;200), wherein the female connector (200) has a female housing 202 and wherein the male connector 100 has a male housing 102, which housings 102, 202) are joinable and provided with locking means (104, 204) for releasable locking the male housing (102) against the female housing (290) and wherein the female connector 200 has female contact elements 208 and wherein the male connector 100 has a male contact elements 134. For improving this system, the contact elements (134; 208) of each connector device 100; 200) are arranged parallel to a contact axis (CA) extending transverse to the mating direction (MD) and wherein contact surfaces (135; 212) of each connector device (100; 200) are sealingly received between the two housings in the locked stage of the two housings.
